Photos, analysed then let go
An optional photo is sent to our AI provider to draft a cartoon description. Hikaya does not save the source photo in its database or media storage; the description and generated cartoon assets are saved.
A child's space is calm
No adverts, no push notifications to the child, no prices, no countdown timers. The child portal shows only stories, their hero, and reading rewards.
Delete everything, anytime
You can delete a child or your account. Access is removed and associated stored media is deleted after the database change. Storage failures need follow-up; copies already downloaded outside Hikaya are outside our control.
How the AI is used
Stories and pictures are generated for your child at your request — your child never chats with an AI, and Hikaya does not use anything your child does or says to train AI models. A photo you share for the hero is sent once to our AI provider to describe the cartoon hero; Hikaya keeps that description and the character pictures, not the photo itself.
What we keep and why
- Name, age, reading level and language — the minimum needed to personalise a story.
- Reading activity and quiz responses support family and authorised classroom views. Activity alone is not a measure of learning.
- AI, hosting and other service providers process data needed to deliver Hikaya. Provider processing is different from sharing a profile with a school.
